About Danielle

Your story. Your love. Your ceremony.

Hello, I'm Danielle Mills, a marriage celebrant based in Adelaide, South Australia. I'm passionate about creating meaningful, personal and memorable ceremonies that celebrate what makes each couple unique — a true reflection of your personalities, your journey together, and the promises you're making to one another.

I'm warm, caring and approachable, and I genuinely love hearing people's stories. Whether you want a ceremony that's romantic and traditional, relaxed and fun, simple and intimate, or completely your own, I'll help turn that vision into something that feels authentic — guiding you through the legal requirements and planning so you can feel confident and relaxed as your day approaches.

My background in ministry and leadership, and years spent working with and supporting people, shapes how I approach every ceremony — with compassion, professionalism and genuine care. I bring organisation to the legal side of your marriage, and warmth and personality to the ceremony itself.

My Promise to You

"When you choose me as your celebrant, you're not just choosing someone to conduct your ceremony. You're choosing someone who will take the time to know your story, listen to what matters to you and help create a ceremony that feels truly yours."
— Danielle Mills

Ceremonies are often set to live music — the reach of a harp, the warmth of a violin. Danielle can recommend musicians she's worked with before, or build your ceremony around instrumentalists you've already chosen.

Questions

Frequently Asked
How far in advance should we book?

Popular dates can book out six to twelve months ahead, though I can often accommodate shorter timeframes — the sooner you get in touch, the more options you'll have.

What paperwork is required?

Australian law requires a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) to be lodged with your celebrant at least one month, and no more than eighteen months, before your ceremony, along with proof of identity and, if applicable, evidence of the end of any previous marriage. I'll guide you through every form.

What does a marriage celebrant do?

A celebrant is authorised under the Marriage Act 1961 to legally solemnise your marriage. Beyond the paperwork, I write and deliver the ceremony itself — the words, the structure, and the moments that make it yours.

Do you provide the ceremony script?

Yes — every ceremony is written from scratch based on your story, never a generic template.

Can we write our own vows?

Absolutely. Many couples write their own vows, use traditional vows, or blend both — whatever feels right for you.

Can we choose our own music?

Yes, entirely. I can also suggest musicians I've worked with before, including harp and violin, if you'd like recommendations.

Do you attend rehearsals?

Yes — a rehearsal is included so everyone feels confident and relaxed on the day.

How long does a ceremony take?

Most ceremonies run twenty to thirty minutes, though this varies depending on how many readings, rituals or personal touches you'd like to include.
